In 2008, a local group started a fan convention to celebrate anime and video games in the Jacksonville/St. Augustine, Florida area.  For four years, the convention created a popular gathering every October for local fans to meet up with fellow “geeks” and enjoy a weekend of contests, cosplay, games, panels, shopping, and more.

Flash forward to 2012.  That convention has decided that it wants to move on to greener pastures, and it announced that it while they would still host a convention around their usual time slot of October – it would abandon North Florida and move to Orlando.

We think this sucks.

After four years of support, local fans are being left high and dry without their usual October convention.

Enter: WasabiCon.

The plan is simple – find a location, pull in favors from over ten years of experience in the fan convention market, and build an event worthy of the fans in Jacksonville/St. Augustine.  The team from Wasabi Anime® is moving fast to make this happen, and we feel we can create something worthy of your attention.
